This photo dates from either 1946/47 or 1947/48 and the match was clearly played at Hartsdown Park. The goalkeeper resembles future Margate stopper Peter Peters which would make the opponents Canterbury City and the Margate player on the ground who seems to have scored may well be Ronnie Martell so it's possible the photo was taken on 3.5.48 when Margate beat Canterbury 2-0 in Kent League Cup semi final with Martell being one of the scorers.
