Attacking player born in Scotland who started his career with Dover during the 1982/83 season before moving on to Deal during the 1983/84 campaign. Andy stayed with the club until March 1989 when he signed for Thanet United.

He was encouraged to join Thanet by United's programme editor and committee member Paul Bates who worked with Andy at Customs and Excise at the Port of Dover and felt sure he would get into the Thanet team.

After making two reserve team appearances and scoring once Andy made his first team debut in midfield on 1.4.89 as Thanet were thrashed 8-1 at Hounslow. He then featured in each of United's next five games, twice as a substitute. He played in midfield or attack and made his sixth and last appearance on 29.4.89 when he wore the number 11 shirt during a 1-1 draw with Buckingham at Hartsdown Park. He left the club at the end of the season and returned to Deal for 1989/90.

Andy later became a policeman and left Deal to play for Kent Police having made a total of 84 first team appearances there during his career. Kent Police were in the Kent League at the time and Andy went on to spend several seasons with them.

He left his job with Kent Police in 2008 and by 2013 Andy was serving as a police officer in Cheshire where he lived with his wife and three daughters. At that time Andy said of his years spent playing football "Not a meteoric career but enjoyed it nonetheless!"
