6' 2" tall defender born in Sittingbourne who started his career with his hometown club aged 15.

Colin then moved to Ramsgate during the 1961/62 season and early in 1962 the Rams loaned him to Brighton where he played a few games for the Youth team. Colin soon returned to Ramsgate and he went on to make over 600 appearances for the club. In October 1967 he was granted a testimonial match with a strong West Ham side supplying the opposition.

In July 1973 Colin moved on to Maidstone for a fee in the region of £1,400 and he went on to spend three seasons with the Stones before joining Gravesend & Northfleet for 1976/77.

He joined Margate on loan from Gravesend in March 1977 and made his debut in a 3-0 defeat at home to Wimbledon on 1.4.77. Despite the result Colin had a good game and the Thanet Times said that he "won virtually everything in the air". He went on to turn in numerous solid performances before the end of the 1976/77 campaign and had an outstanding game in a 0-0 draw with Yeovil at Hartsdown on 23.4.77. Colin made a total of 13 appearances before returning to Gravesend at the end of the season, shortly after Margate's relegation from the Southern League Premier Division was confirmed.

He went on to captain the Gravesend side that won the Southern League Cup in 1977/78 and made a total of 67 appearances (two as sub) for the Fleet, scoring twice, before joining Folkestone & Shepway for the 1978/79 season.

In the summer of 1979 Colin became Folkestone's player-manager but he resigned early in 1980.

He later had a spell in charge of Maidstone where he also acted as coach for a period in the early 1980's.
