Local defender born in Garlinge who played for Thanet Schoolboys during his time as a pupil at King Ethelbert's School in Birchington.

Colin went on to play for Margate Colts and Minnis Bay in local amateur football. He also played for the Thanet Youth cricket team and whilst undertaking his National Service from 1954 to 1956 Colin turned out for the Home Counties Brigade.

After being demobbed Colin joined Margate and he played exclusively for the reserves during the 1956/57 season.

He stayed with the club for the 1957/58 campaign and on 28.8.57 Colin made his first team debut, playing at left-back as Margate drew 1-1 in a Kent League Cup tie at Sittingbourne. He made three further first team appearances deputising for Terry Joyce during the early part of the season and then spent the remainder of the campaign in the reserves.

Colin left the club in the summer of 1958 and joined Herne Bay, shortly before that he'd been approached by Tottenham but opted for a career with the Post Office instead.

He became the father of quads during 1959 and stayed with the Post Office for many years until being forced to retire due to heart disease.

Colin died in Margate on 8.8.04.
