In November 1990 Dave was transferred to Hythe for a fee of £5,000 and he stayed there until the club folded at the end of the 1991/92 campaign.

Dave joined Margate for the start of 1992/93 and made his debut at right-back in a 4-1 win at Watford against Wealdstone on 22.8.92, the opening day of the season. The Thanet Times reported that he "often took the eye with dogged tackling and intelligent overlapping" and Dave went on to play regularly throughout the campaign, mostly in the number two shirt but sometimes in midfield. On 7.9.92 he scored his first goal for Margate in a 5-0 win over Fisher at Bromley but on 24.9.92 Dave missed a penalty during a 1-0 win over Fareham in an FA Trophy tie at Hartsdown Park. On 13.2.93 he scored his best goal of the season with a bouncing low drive from well outside the penalty area as Margate beat Fareham 3-1 at Hartsdown but it turned out to be his last for the club. After playing in a 1-0 home win over Canterbury on 10.4.93 Dave left Margate and returned to Ashford having scored five goals in 40 appearances.

After a season back at Ashford Dave dropped into the Kent County League where he played for Knatchbull during the 1994/95 campaign before retiring.
