Former Ashford centre-forward who initially joined Margate from Deal on trial in July 1949. However it wasn't until November 1949 that George joined the club on a permanent basis.

He scored twice on his debut for the reserves on 26.11.49 and then found the net on his first team debut a week later - a 4-3 win over Royal Marines Chatham at Hartsdown on 3.12.49. George went on to make a total of seven appearances and scored five times in all, including a hat-trick in a 6-1 win at Sheppey on 31.12.49. However despite his excellent strike rate he couldn't establish himself in the first team.

As a result George left the club before the end of the 1949/50 season.
