Tough-tackling player who started his career with Gravesend & Northfleet and progressed through the Fleet's youth ranks to the fringes of the first team by the start of the 2006/07 season.

In September 2006 Jackson was loaned to Whitstable and after a short spell back at Gravesend he joined the Oystermen on a permanent basis in January 2007.

He helped Whitstable to win the Kent League title and then made one substitute appearance in the Isthmian League Division 1 South at the start of the 2007/08 campaign before being loaned to Sussex County League club Redhill in September 2007.

After making four appearances for Redhill Jackson returned to Whitstable in October 2007 and in November 2007 he signed for Welling.

He made 11 appearances (three as sub) in all competitions without scoring for the Conference South club before leaving the Wings to join Kent League outfit Slade Green in February 2008.

Jackson only played once for Slade Green before moving on to East Thurrock where he featured seven times in the Isthmian League Premier Division before the end of the 2007/08 season.

He started the 2008/09 campaign at Dartford but couldn't break into the Darts' first team and in November 2008 Jackson signed for Margate. He made his debut in a 2-1 win at Hendon in the Isthmian League Premier Division on 22.11.08 and after starting in midfield Jackson dropped back into defence for the second half. The Isle of Thanet Gazette said "he looked a good solid player" and he started Margate's next nine matches wearing either the number six or number seven shirt.

In its report on a 2-1 defeat against Staines at Hartsdown Park on 29.11.08 the Thanet Times said Jackson had "added the steel in midfield Blues needed" and didn't "ponce about in the tackle". The paper added "Blues shouldn't be a soft touch in midfield when he's on his game".

After a good run in the side Jackson lost his place in the wake of a 1-0 defeat at Tonbridge on 31.1.09 and didn't feature at all in Margate's next three matches. He returned to action as a substitute in a 2-0 defeat at Wealdstone on 28.2.09 but then only featured twice more as a sub in the next six games. Jackson's last outing from the bench came in a 3-2 defeat at Harrow on 4.4.09 and he was an unused substitute for the final four matches of the campaign as Margate finished in the relegation zone. In May 2009 he was released having made a total of 15 appearances (four as sub) without scoring.

In the summer of 2009 Jackson played in a friendly for Staines before linking up with Conference South club St.Albans in August 2009. He never featured in the Hertfordshire outfit's first team and left the club before the end of 2009.

By January 2010 Jackson was turning out for Isthmian League Premier Division club Aveley's reserves and in February 2010 he moved on to Erith & Belvedere.

He played once in the Kent League for the Deres as they lost 6-1 at Faversham on 13.2.10 before leaving the club.

Jackson featured in several friendlies for Conference South outfit Dover in the summer of 2010 and was announced as having been signed by the club in August 2010 but never played a competitive game.

After a spell out of senior football Jackson resurfaced at the start of the 2012/13 season when he joined Kirkintilloch Rob Roy of the West of Scotland Super League Premier Division having relocated to the Kirkintilloch area.
