Maidstone-born attacking full-back who started his career with Kent County League club Aylesford Paper Mills before joining Sittingbourne during the 1989/90 season.

Jason enjoyed a successful spell with the Brickies and was part of their side that won the Kent League title for 1990/91 without losing a game. In November 1990 he scored a hat-trick for Sittingbourne's reserves in the first 21 mins of a 10-2 win over Faversham's second string.

In November 1992 Jason moved on to Canterbury before signing for Margate in February 1993.

He made his debut at left-back in a 4-0 defeat at Poole on 20.2.93 and kept his place for Margate's next four games before dropping out of the side in mid-March. Jason didn't play for the first team again during 1992/93.

He started the 1993/94 season as a regular in the side and featured in Margate's first 12 games, mostly at left-back and twice on the left of midfield. The Thanet Times said that Jason was "outstanding" in defence during a 3-0 win at Bromley in the FA Cup on 25.9.93 but after a humiliating 5-2 defeat at Metropolitan Police in the next round on 9.10.93 he was dropped. Jason didn't feature at all in Margate's next four matches and after making three consecutive substitute appearances at the end of October and early November he was loaned to Herne Bay for a few weeks.

Jason returned to Hartsdown Park towards the end of November 1993 and after wearing the number three shirt in a 1-0 defeat at Ashford on 30.11.93 he was virtually ever-present for the rest of the season, nearly always playing at left-back. The Isle of Thanet Gazette said he "often took the eye with his bold overlapping" during a 4-2 win at Tonbridge in the Kent Senior Cup on 19.1.94 but when Margate reached the final of the competition Jason wasn't selected and Ivan Haines took his place as Margate beat Dover 2-1 to win the trophy at Gillingham's Priestfield Stadium on 2.5.94. It was hard on Jason as he'd featured in each of the ten games leading up to the final and had only missed one match since his return to the side in November. He finished the campaign having made 43 appearances (seven as sub) without scoring.

Jason started the 1994/95 season as Margate's first-choice left-back and on 20.8.94 he scored his first goal for the club in a 3-1 home win over Bashley. He wore the number three shirt in each of the first 15 games of the campaign and after a 4-1 win at Tonbridge on 7.9.94 the Isle of Thanet Gazette said that Jason was "playing better with every game". The paper said he was "in fine form" during a 0-0 with Hastings at Hartsdown on 13.12.94 and on 2.1.95 Jason scored again in a 7-3 win over Tonbridge at Hartsdown. The Gazette's report on a 1-0 home defeat against Fisher on 17.1.95 described him as a "model of consistency" and also said of Jason "he grows in authority at left-back with every match". His good form led to Football League scouts watching him when Margate entertained Havant on 25.2.95 and although the visitors won 4-1 the Thanet Times said interested parties "undoubtedly saw enough of his potential to rate a second look". A few weeks later Jason left Margate shortly after featuring in a 0-0 draw at Bashley on 18.3.95. He'd made 35 appearances during 1994/95 and scored twice.

Jason joined Tonbridge after his departure from Hartsdown Park and stayed with the Angels until the summer of 1997 when he moved on to Sheppey.

He left the Islanders during the 1998/99 season and dropped into the Kent County League to play for Snodland. Jason was still with the club during the 2000/01 campaign but dropped out of senior football after that.
