Leeds-born defender who joined Margate from Fulham in March 1949 having made one Football League appearance for the Cottagers during the 1946/47 season.

Jimmy made his debut in a 4-1 win over Lloyds Paper Mills at Hartsdown Park on 19.3.49 and became Margate's regular left-back during the final weeks of the 1948/49 campaign. He made a total of seven appearances and impressed with his solid tackling and good use of the ball.

He became club captain for the 1949/50 season and was a fixture in the side until December 1949. Jimmy then got a job in Great Yarmouth and was forced to leave the club having made 20 appearances during the campaign.

He soon joined Gorleston.

Jimmy died in the Wayland area of Norfolk in the fourth quarter of 1979 aged 61.
