Bexley-born midfielder who was on Charlton's books for four years as a schoolboy before joining Gravesend & Northfleet's PASE scheme aged 16 in 2005. Lee played in the Fleet's youth sides during 2005/06 and 2006/07 and in May 2007 he was part of the Kent Youth League Under-18 Representative side that took part in a game against Charlton's Under-18's.

Gravesend & Northfleet became Ebbsfleet ahead of the 2007/08 season and on 3.11.07 Lee made his first team debut as a late substitute in a 2-0 home defeat against Forest Green in the Conference.

In December 2007 he was loaned to Isthmian League Premier Division club Sutton and Lee made six appearances there (one as sub) without scoring before returning to Stonebridge Road early in February 2008.

Before the end of February 2008 Lee was loaned to Isthmian League Division 1 North outfit Wivenhoe at the same time as future Margate player Dan Stubbs and he played three times during his spell there.

At the end of the 2007/08 campaign Lee was released by the Fleet having made two sub appearances for the first team.

In June 2008 he signed for Ramsgate of the Isthmian League Premier Division and the Rams assistant manager Danny Ward told the Isle of Thanet Gazette "I think Maskell could be the next legend of Ramsgate Football Club, he looks like he could be one of those players. Other clubs offered him more money but we won him over." Things didn't work out for Lee and he was released by the Rams at the end of August 2008 without making a single competitive appearance for the first team.

After leaving Southwood he immediately joined Margate and Lee made his debut as a half-time substitute for Paul Smith in a 1-1 draw at Harlow in the Isthmian League Premier Division on 2.9.08. He then started in midfield as Margate lost 2-0 to AFC Hornchurch at Hartsdown Park on 6.9.08 before making another sub appearance in a 2-1 defeat at Tooting & Mitcham on 9.9.08. Lee was an unused substitute for two more games in September before being released.

He signed for Chatham before the end of September 2008 and Lee went on to score once from nine Isthmian League Division 1 North outings (one as sub) for the Medway club before moving on to VCD in January 2009.

Lee helped VCD to win the Kent League title and then scored three times in 26 appearances (eight as sub) for the club in the Isthmian League Division 1 North during the 2009/10 season.

In June 2010 he rejoined Chatham as part of a mass exodus of VCD players who followed manager Paul Foley to the club and Lee also had a groin operation before the start of the 2010/11 campaign. He made 11 Isthmian League Division 1 South appearances (seven as sub) without scoring for Chatham before being released at the end of November 2010.

Lee then linked up with Kent League outfit Lordswood and he was still playing for the club at the start of the 2012/13 season.
