Above is the original bronze runners-up medal presented to Les by the Queen Mother after Charlton had lost 4-1 to Derby after extra time in the 1946 FA Cup Final. It was given instead of a gold medal due to a post-war gold shortage.
And this is the front of the gold runners-up medal awarded to Les some six months later, once gold was available again.
