Tenacious London-born player who played for South London Schools and Kent Schools as a youngster before starting his senior career with Gillingham.

Mark joined the Gills in the summer of 2003 and featured in their youth and reserve teams during the 2003/04 season.

He had a short trial spell with Millwall during 2004/05 and Mark played twice for the Lions' reserves before returning to Gillingham.

On 6.8.05 he made his first team debut for the Gills as an 86th minute substitute in a 2-1 home win over Colchester in League One and Mark also came on in a 0-0 draw at Port Vale on 9.8.05. He featured twice more as a substitute before the end of 2005 and Mark's last senior outing came in a Football League Trophy tie against Wycombe at Priestfield on 22.11.05. Gillingham lost on penalties after a 2-2 draw and future England winger Matt Jarvis scored both the Gills goals.

In December 2005 Mark was loaned out to Eastbourne Borough and he scored once from eight outings in the Conference South before briefly going back to Gillingham in February 2006.

Mark was almost immediately farmed out again and he spent a month with Isthmian League Premier Division club Folkestone where he made six appearances without scoring.

He was released by Gillingham in April 2006 and a month later Mark signed for Isthmian League Premier Division outfit Bromley.

He became a fixture in Bromley's side at right-back and helped the club win promotion to the Conference South via the play-offs at the end of the 2006/07 season. Mark then won Bromley's 'Player of the Year' award for the 2007/08 campaign and stayed with the club until December 2009 when he took a brief break from football.

In January 2010 Mark returned to Bromley but in March 2010 he moved on to Maidstone having made a career total of 160 appearances.

Mark made nine appearances without scoring for the Stones in the Isthmian League Premier Division before the end of the 2009/10 season.

In July 2010 he played in some friendlies for Dover but Mark started the 2010/11 campaign on Maidstone's books once more. He missed the start of the season due to injury and Mark then gave up football due to a combination of work and university study commitments. He hadn't featured for the Stones during 2010/11.

After an extended break from the game Mark resumed his career when he signed for Margate in July 2011 and manager Chris Kinnear told the Isle of Thanet Gazette "I've seen a lot of him and he knows his football. He's a proper footballer - a good player."

A few days before the start of the 2011/12 season Chris Kinnear again spoke to the Isle of Thanet Gazette about Mark and said "A good right-back who can also play in midfield, Mark's mostly played in the Conference South. Unfortunately he needs to see a specialist to get to the bottom of this injury he has". At that time Mark had a pelvic / back problem and he was later put on a stretching exercise programme to try and resolve it.

After missing Margate's first two matches due to injury Mark made his debut as a substitute in a 4-1 home defeat against Lowestoft in the Isthmian League Premier Division on 27.8.11 and he then started for the first time in a 2-2 draw at Hastings on 29.8.11. Mark played at right-back and the Isle of Thanet Gazette said he was "impressive". He also started Margate's next two games in the number two shirt but after a 2-0 defeat against Hendon at Hartsdown Park on 10.9.11 Mark missed four matches with a hamstring injury.

He returned to action as a substitute in a 0-0 draw with visitors Thamesmead in an FA Cup tie on 1.10.11 and Mark started the next three games in midfield. On 15.10.11 he was switched to right-back as Margate entertained his old club Bromley in the FA Cup and the Thanet Times described him as a "real competitor". The visitors won the game 3-2 and Mark then sat out Margate's next two matches.

On 25.10.11 he came off the bench in a 1-1 draw at Concord Rangers and Mark then enjoyed a good run in the side wearing the number eight shirt. On 29.11.11 he got his first Margate goal in a 5-0 home win over East Thurrock, opening the scoring by smashing home a loose ball via the crossbar, but around that time Mark started to be troubled by his pelvic problem once more. In the middle of December 2011 the Isle of Thanet Gazette reported that he was going to have to rest the injury but Mark continued to feature regularly in Margate's midfield as the new year began.

In its report on a 5-1 home win over Lewes on 21.1.12 the Thanet Times said Mark "broke up play a treat in the middle and got attacks rolling" but after that he started to miss some evening games and Chris Kinnear told the Isle of Thanet Gazette "Mark's changed his job so he's struggling to play midweek but what can you do ? He's a blinking good player."

After a 0-0 draw with Leatherhead at Hartsdown Park on 10.3.12 Mark missed three matches but he returned in a 2-1 win over visitors Horsham on 31.3.12 and then started each of Margate's last six games of the season. He finished the campaign having scored once from 39 outings (five as sub).

Mark made his first appearance of 2012/13 on 18.8.12 as Margate beat Hendon 2-0 at Hartsdown Park on the opening day of the new Isthmian League Premier Division season. After another outing in midfield he played at right-back in a 3-3 draw at Kingstonian on 25.8.12 and then went off with a hamstring problem just before half time in a 2-1 home win over Lowestoft on 27.8.12. Mark missed the next three matches due to the injury.

He returned to action as a substitute in a 2-0 win over Enfield Town at Hartsdown Park on 15.9.12 and Mark also featured as a sub in an FA Cup tie at Aveley on 22.9.12. He scored with a header from an acute angle with almost his first touch as Margate won 4-1 and on 29.9.12 Mark was back in the starting line-up for a 2-1 home defeat against Maidstone in the FA Trophy.

He was a regular in midfield for the next few months and on 11.12.12 Mark scored twice in a 3-1 win over visitors Carshalton. The Isle of Thanet Gazette said he "leapt like a kangaroo" to head home his first goal and Mark's second strike was a drive from the edge of the penalty area that arrowed into the top corner.

On 20.2.13 he was injured in a 1-0 defeat at Metropolitan Police and Mark then sat out the next three games before returning in a 3-0 home win over Bognor Regis on 9.3.13 but he had to go off shortly after the half-hour mark. That turned out to be his last outing of the season and Mark missed Margate's last 14 matches due to injury. He finished the campaign having scored three times in 29 appearances (three as sub) and at the end of the season he left the club.

Mark started the 2013/14 campaign as a free agent as work commitments limited his availability to play football.
