Pacy striker born in the Barking area of Essex who was on the books of Isthmian League Division 1 North club Ilford during the 2006/07 season but didn't play any first team games there.

Nicky joined Margate as a non-contract player in the summer of 2007 aged 17 and on 31.7.07 he scored in his first friendly appearance as Margate drew 1-1 at Chatham. Player-manager Robin Trott told the Isle of Thanet Gazette "Nick Moir impressed me. He's only 17 and has been on trial here. I sent him training with the reserves and he'd played a couple of practice matches but this was the first time I've had a proper chance to look at him. He shone - and took his goal very well."

On the eve of the 2007/08 campaign Robin Trott again spoke to the Isle of Thanet Gazette about Nicky and said he had "...the fastest feet you'll ever see on the pitch" whilst adding "He's got a good touch and I've been impressed with him in pre-season."

Nicky made his debut as a substitute in a 3-0 win at Chatham in the FA Cup on 15.9.07 and then scored in his next outing, again as a sub, as Margate lost 3-2 to East Thurrock in an Isthmian League Cup tie at Hartsdown Park on 2.10.07. He didn't feature in the next four games but on 21.10.07 Nicky made his third sub appearance in a 0-0 draw with Aylesbury at Chesham in the FA Trophy.

Before the end of October 2007 he was given a contract and after two more outings from the bench Nicky made his first start for Margate in a 1-1 draw at Folkestone in the Isthmian League Premier Division on 29.10.07. He then featured three times as a substitute in the next eight matches before wearing the number nine shirt as Margate entertained Welling in a Kent Senior Cup tie on 11.12.07. Nicky scored from the penalty spot in a 2-1 win but when he came on as a sub in Margate's next game - a 4-1 home win over East Thurrock on 15.12.07 - it turned out to be his last first team outing for over four months.

After a lengthy spell in the reserves Nicky returned to the senior side when he played up front as Margate lost 4-1 at home to Ebbsfleet in a Kent Senior Cup tie on 26.3.08. He didn't feature in the next four games but on 26.4.08 Nicky wore then number eight shirt as Margate travelled to Harrow for their last Isthmian League Premier Division match of the season. He scored the only goal of the game to finish the campaign with a record of three goals from 13 appearances (nine as sub).

In the summer of 2008 Nicky featured in a first team friendly at Thamesmead but a few weeks into the 2008/09 season he left Margate having failed to break into the senior side.

After his departure from Hartsdown Park Nicky dropped into local amateur football in Essex and he started the 2011/12 campaign with Dagenham club Thamesview who played on Sundays in the Romford & District Football League.

In December 2011 Nicky returned to senior football when he signed for Isthmian League Division 1 South outfit Faversham having been recommended to the club by their former Margate striker Danny Hockton. Nicky spent the remainder of the 2011/12 season with Faversham but only made three substitute appearances in the league without scoring.
