Hard-working 6' 3" tall centre-forward born in Edgware who spent six years playing for North London youth side Princes Park, sometimes as a goalkeeper, before being signed by Fulham. Rob worked his way through the Cottagers' junior ranks and in January 1993 he was signed as a professional aged 17.

Rob made his first team debut as a substitute in a 3-1 defeat at Plymouth on 28.12.93 and on 9.4.94 he marked his first start for Fulham with a goal in a 2-1 win at Brentford. He finished the 1993/94 campaign having scored once from a total of 11 senior appearances (seven as sub) as Fulham were relegated from Division 2 (later League One). He also top scored for the youth team, bagging 16 goals for them.

Rob made a further 16 first team appearances (ten as sub) during 1994/95 and scored four goals, two in the League Cup and two in Football League Trophy ties. Rob was released by Fulham at the end of the season.

He signed for Millwall in the summer of 1995 but Rob couldn't break into the Lions' first team and in December 1995 he moved on to Conference club Kettering.

On 2.3.96 Rob was sent off half an hour into an FA Trophy tie at Stevenage and his dismissal sparked crowd trouble which resulted in the referee taking all the players off the field for their own safety before resuming the match some 20 minutes later. A few days later Rob joined Aylesbury having scored twice from 13 outings for Kettering.

He made his debut for the Ducks as they entertained Hitchin in an Isthmian League Premier Division game on 9.3.96 and Rob made a dramatic impact by scoring within the first minute of the match. By the end of the 1995/96 campaign he'd scored five goals from 16 appearances.

During June 1996 Rob had a short spell with Finnish side Turun Palloseura where he played four times and scored once during a two-week stay with the club.

After returning to England Rob signed for Isthmian League Premier Division outfit St.Albans and he went on to spend four seasons there from 1996/97 to 1999/00 inclusive. He scored 50 goals from 181 appearances (31 as sub) and was part of the side that reached the semi-final of the FA Trophy during 1998/99.

In the summer of 2000 Rob joined Dagenham & Redbridge but struggled to gain a regular first team place and only made three Conference appearances (two as sub) before being loaned to Sutton in October 2000.

He scored once during a month with the Isthmian League Premier Division outfit and then went back to the Daggers.

After returning to Victoria Road Rob featured in four more Conference games (twice as sub) and scored his only goal in a 3-1 defeat at Dover on 1.1.01. Later in January 2001 he appeared as a substitute in both of Dagenham's FA Cup ties against Premier League Charlton, coming on in the 1-1 draw at The Valley on 6.1.01 and the Daggers 1-0 home defeat in the replay on 27.1.01.

In February 2001 Rob joined Sutton on a permanent basis and scored ten more goals for the Surrey side before the end of the 2000/01 campaign. In total he made 23 Isthmian League appearances during his two spells with the club. Rob stayed with Sutton for the 2001/02 season and made a further 42 league appearances (two as sub). He scored 18 goals in all competitions.

In June 2002 Rob moved on to Hendon and scored four Isthmian League Premier Division goals from 28 outings (16 as sub) as well as eight goals in cup competitions during 2002/03. In August 2003 Hendon loaned Rob to Conference club Gravesend & Northfleet and his move became permanent in September 2003.

Rob went on to make 29 appearances for the Fleet (two as sub) and scored eight goals including one in a 3-1 win over Margate at Dover on 27.12.03 before falling out of favour towards the end of the season.

In March 2004 he was loaned to Isthmian League Premier Division outfit Maidenhead and Rob scored three goals from 11 outings (one as sub) during the closing weeks of the 2003/04 campaign.

In the summer of 2004 Rob signed for Isthmian League Division 1 club Metropolitan Police and made 41 league appearances (six as sub) for them during 2004/05. He scored a total of 16 goals in all competitions. During the 2005/06 season he made a further 38 league appearances (three as sub) and managed eight goals in all competitions.

Rob stayed with the Met for the start of the 2006/07 campaign but didn't play regularly. He'd only made 11 league appearances (three as sub) and had scored five goals in all competitions when he moved on to Isthmian League Premier Division outfit Carshalton in January 2007, shortly after completing a nine match ban and not long after Kingstonian had enquired about his availability. The Met's manager Jim Cooper marked Rob's departure by saying "The man was an immense presence both on and off the pitch and we are all very sorry to see him go."

Rob scored once from 16 appearances (three as sub) during two months with Carshalton and then towards the end of March 2007 he signed for Margate.

Rob made his debut in the number nine shirt as Margate drew 1-1 with Horsham in an Isthmian League Premier Division game at Hartsdown Park on 27.3.07 and assistant manager Mike Flanagan told the Isle of Thanet Gazette "Rob did well for us. He's big and strong and battled hard against a big Horsham defence. He gives us a different option in attack." Rob also started Margate's next match - a 3-0 home win over Walton & Hersham on 31.3.07 - and afterwards player-manager Robin Trott told the Thanet Times "Rob Haworth's not the fastest in the world but he is another dimension. We thrive on crosses and he's a big man to have in the box."

Rob was only used as a substitute in the next two matches but on 7.4.07 he scored with a header after coming on in a game against Slough at Windsor & Eton. His goal made it 1-1 and the match eventually finished as a 2-2 draw. Rob then returned to the starting line-up in a 1-0 home win over Ramsgate on 9.4.07 and kept his place for the last three games of the season.

The Thanet Times declared Rob the "star of the show" in a 3-1 win at Chelmsford on 14.4.07 and the paper said he was "a nightmare for defenders while he also did his bit at the back when Margate were under pressure". Robin Trott said "Rob played well. His first couple of games were a bit tough for him. He'd been at Met Police last year and then Carshalton, and some were probably saying he was on his way out. He was down Gravesend with me for a little bit and I played against him with Stevenage when he was at Enfield. So I knew what he was all about. He's good to have in the dressing room as well. All that was missing was the quality but he showed he's got that on Saturday. He had his critics when he came in, and so did I for bringing him here, but I don't think there's one player I've signed who's been rubbish." Rob ended the 2006/07 campaign having scored once from eight outings (two as sub) for Margate.

Having scored four goals in Margate's pre-season friendlies he was given a contract in August 2007 and Robin Trott told the Isle of Thanet Gazette "Rob Haworth was a non-contract player here and I didn't muck about. He's been immense in pre-season and is one of the number one strikers at the club. It was only fair to give him a deal." On the eve of the new campaign Trott again spoke to the Isle of Thanet Gazette about Rob and said he'd "…taken his fitness to a new level this season and is playing ever so well. He's a big strong centre-forward who's old school, but that's what we need. Very powerful."

In its report on Margate's first Isthmian League Premier Division game of the season - a 1-1 draw with Chelmsford at Hartsdown Park on 18.8.07 - the Thanet Times said Rob spent much of the match "putting himself about like a lunatic up front" before going off with cramp after 71 minutes. He also started the next two games but after a 4-2 win against Wealdstone at Northwood on 25.8.07 Rob missed six matches due to a calf injury.

Exactly a month after his last appearance he returned to action as a substitute in a 1-1 home draw against AFC Wimbledon on 25.9.07 and Rob then scored a minute after coming on in an FA Cup tie against Fisher at Dulwich on 29.9.07, playing a key role as Margate came back to win 4-3 after being 3-1 down in the second half. He started Margate's next game on 2.10.07 and made it back-to-back goals by scoring in a 3-2 defeat against East Thurrock in an Isthmian League Cup tie at Hartsdown Park.

Rob then enjoyed a long run in the side and October 2007 turned out to be prolific month for him. On 13.10.07 he was on target in a 4-3 defeat at Hitchin in the FA Cup and Rob then got both goals as Margate beat visitors Leyton 2-1 in his next outing on 16.10.07, heading home two Jimmy Jackson crosses. The Isle of Thanet Gazette described his second goal as "a smashing diving header". Rob rounded off the month by getting another two goals in a 3-3 draw at Heybridge on 27.10.07 and the Thanet Times said his "workrate up front was outstanding".

Rob's next goal came in a 4-3 defeat against Maidstone at Hartsdown Park on 17.11.07 and he also struck in a 2-1 home win over Welling in the Kent Senior Cup on 11.12.07 as his partnership with James Pinnock continued to pay dividends. The Thanet Times said his "workrate deserved a goal" in a 4-1 win over visitors East Thurrock on 15.12.07 and on 5.1.08 Rob reached double figures for the season with what the paper called a "bullet header" from a Charley Side cross in a 2-1 home win over Ashford (Middlesex). He then made it back-to-back goals with a strike in a 4-2 win over his old club Carshalton at Hartsdown Park on 19.1.08 but after that Rob endured a barren run in front of goal.

After a 3-1 home win over Staines on 16.2.08 Robin Trott told the Thanet Times "When Robbie H came down here last year no one else wanted him - now everyone's after him." but as Rob's goal drought continued he found himself on the bench for two games in March 2008. He'd gone 15 games without scoring before Margate entertained Folkestone on 19.4.08 but Rob then returned to the goal trail in style, scoring a hat-trick in a remarkable 5-4 defeat. His third goal came from the penalty spot with a minute to go and the Thanet Times described Rob as being a "veteran battler" but said he was "one of those you can't imagine being around next season as Blues cut their budget". The paper turned out to be right as the Folkestone game was Rob's last start in a Margate shirt and when he came on as a sub in a 1-0 win at Harrow on 26.4.08 it was his final outing for the club. Having scored 14 goals from 46 appearances (six as sub) during the campaign he left Hartsdown Park at the end of the season.

In the summer of 2008 Rob joined Margate's Isthmian League Premier Division rivals Dartford a few days after Wealdstone had officially announced they'd signed him. The Darts' manager Tony Burman told the Kentish Football website "He spoke to them on the phone but hadn't signed for them and for some reason Wealdstone sort of announced that he had signed - you don't do that sort of thing, you see." Burman added "He fitted the bill with what I was looking for in respect of his attitude and things like that…I know he's 32 but when you speak to people he's a good player and you see a player alongside him has always finished up being one of the highest goalscorers as well."

In November 2008 Dartford received a seven-day approach for Rob from another Isthmian League Premier Division club but he rejected them and Tony Burman said "I am delighted to tell you although the offer exceeded any offer that we could make to him, Rob has turned down the move and has decided to stay with us." Rob ended the 2008/09 campaign having scored 15 goals from 37 league outings (five as sub) for the Darts and also scored three cup goals including one in a 3-2 home win over Margate in the Isthmian League Cup on 2.12.08.

Dartford won the Isthmian League title during 2009/10 and Rob played his part by scoring 11 league goals from 36 appearances (15 as sub). Again he found the net against Margate - in a 4-0 win at Hartsdown Park on 18.8.09. He was released by the Darts at the end of the season.

In May 2010 Rob had talks with Conference South club Welling about a move there but a month later he decided to join Isthmian League Premier Division outfit Tooting & Mitcham United instead. Rob scored eight goals for them - including a towering header in a 3-3 draw at Margate on 27.11.10 - before dropping into Division 1 South to return to Metropolitan Police in February 2011, over four years after initially leaving the club.

He scored three times in nine league outings (three as sub) before the end of the 2010/11 campaign as the Met won promotion to the Premier League.

In July 2011 Rob moved on to St.Albans of the Conference South but the start of his second spell with the club was blighted by injury problems. He managed to score five goals from 16 appearances (four as sub) by the end of 2011 but at the start of January 2012 Rob was loaned to Isthmian League Premier Division outfit Leatherhead on a dual-registration basis in an attempt to get him fully fit. Unfortunately his injury jinx struck again as he damaged a hamstring on his debut for the Tanners and immediately returned to St.Albans.

In February 2012 Rob was sent out on loan again and scored once from six outings for St.Albans' Southern League Premier Division neighbours Hemel Hempstead during the closing weeks of the 2011/12 season.

In October 2012 he signed for Chipstead of the Isthmian League Division 1 South and Rob scored his first goal for the club in a 2-2 draw at Sittingbourne on 27.10.12. By the end of the 2012/13 campaign he'd made 23 league appearances (14 as sub) for the Chips and scored once more in a Surrey Senior Cup tie.
