Versatile player born in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire who joined Ramsgate straight from school and went on to spend several seasons at Southwood. Vic first appeared for the Rams during the 1976/77 campaign and played 171 games before moving across Thanet.

He joined Margate in September 1980 and made his debut in a Southern League game against Dartford at Hartsdown on 20.9.80. Vic played at right-back and he went on to make a total of 43 appearances (one as sub) during the remainder of the 1980/81 season. He played in midfield, in central defence, at left-back and as a striker at various times. Vic scored eight goals, the first of them in a 1-1 draw at Waterlooville on 8.11.80 and that began a run of four consecutive games in which he found the net.

Vic left Hartsdown at the end of the campaign and joined Deal in the Kent League. He scored for them in each of their FA Cup ties against Thanet United during the 1981/82 season, Deal winning a replay 2-1. Vic was Deal's leading marksman for the campaign and he lead their scoring charts again for the 1982/83 season, scoring 16 goals.

He returned to Hartsdown on loan from Deal (where he was player-secretary) towards the end of the 1983/84 season and scored in his first game for Thanet United - a 2-1 win at Hounslow on 26.3.84. Vic played in midfield and made three further appearances, one as a striker, before the end of the campaign. He scored in his only match up front - a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Canterbury on 5.5.84.

In the summer of 1984 Vic joined Thanet on a permanent basis having scored a career total of 56 goals in 122 games for Deal and on 18.8.84, the opening day of the 1984/85 season, he scored the winning goal as United beat Dorchester 1-0 at Hartsdown. He went on to enjoy great success as a hard working striker during the early months of the campaign, forming a lethal partnership with his fellow new signing Gary Pugh. By the end of 1984 Vic had scored 18 goals, including a run where he found the net in six consecutive games from 1.12.84 to 22.12.84 inclusive. The best of his goals was a solo effort in a 3-2 win at Dorchester on 1.12.84, Vic beat two defenders before hammering home. When Karl Lloyd returned from a lengthy suspension in January 1985 Vic dropped out of the attack and spent the remainder of the season playing in midfield or occasionally as a centre-back. However when the first team were without a game on 16.2.85 he reprised his striker's role in United's reserves and scored five goals in a 7-0 win over Whitstable Reserves. Vic finished the season having made 57 appearances (two as sub) to take his overall tally for the club past 100 games and his total of 24 goals made him United's leading scorer for the campaign. However despite his success Vic left the club in the summer of 1985 and rejoined Ramsgate for the 1985/86 season.

He returned to Thanet for the start of the 1986/87 campaign and demonstrated his trademark versatility once again. On 13.9.86 Vic had a storming match in midfield as United beat Corinthian 3-0 at Hartsdown, scoring twice with what manager John Wickens described as "two brilliant goals" - a shot from an acute angle and a low drive from the edge of the penalty area. On 25.10.86 Thanet won 2-0 at Chatham and the Thanet Times reported that Vic was "outstanding in his new role as sweeper". He later played several games as a striker and had a great game in a 2-0 win over Dover on 3.2.87, scoring one of the United goals. It was his tenth of the season and turned out to be Vic's last in a Thanet shirt. After playing up front in a 0-0 draw at Canterbury on 14.2.87 he left the club and soon returned to Ramsgate once again having made 38 appearances. The Thanet Times said that Vic had been "consistent" while the Isle of Thanet Gazette had described him as being "one of the most improved players in the Thanet squad".

Commenting on Vic's departure, the paper said that he was "a player United can ill afford to lose" and had "given some outstanding performances". Thanet's acting chairman Keith Brooks expressed his surprise and said "he was certainly one of our better players but he disliked the extensive travelling involved with the Southern League." Brooks went on to say "his departure was by mutual consent but it is only for the remainder of the campaign and he will be back with us next August", he also added that Vic had never let the club down and had been a great asset at Hartsdown. Ramsgate's manager Lester Smith said "I was only too pleased to welcome him back" and refuted Brooks' claim that Vic would return to Thanet for the 1987/88 season. Smith said "I am not in the habit of making short term signings...I think we should all realize that at our level and without contracts players are going to move around so that they can enjoy their football."

Vic went on to score 18 goals for the Rams during 1987/88, including a hat-trick in a 4-1 win over Slade Green on 29.8.87, and he became the club's player-manager for the 1988/89 season.

In August 1989 Vic scored as Ramsgate went down 3-1 to Margate in the annual Isle of Thanet Gazette Cup match at Hartsdown and in December 1989 he stepped down as player-manager, although he stayed on as a player.

He later played local amateur football and was still turning out for Lloyds in the Thanet Works League during the 2000/01 campaign.

In July 2010 he became manager of Ramsgate's Under-18's side and at that time Vic was still playing cricket locally.
