Chris Kinnear's first season as manager was also our centenary season and began with a prestige friendly against a strong West Ham team at Hartsdown, which we lost 1-0 in front of 3,500. It also saw the involvement of sponsors Link Music and 80s pop star Buster Bloodvessel. A final position of fifth place in the Southern League Southern Division was our highest finish for nine years.
