A season of struggle on and off the pitch that ultimately ended with Margate's demotion from the Conference. With the old Hartsdown Park mostly demolished, the news that developers Stadia Management would no longer be involved in the project was a huge blow. A Thanet Council vote in January 2004 against the club's plans then put our future in the balance. With the Conference rejecting a further season's groundshare at Dover, the club accepted demotion to Conference South despite finishing clear of the relegation spots. The only good news was a further Kent Senior Cup triumph.
