Local player who joined Margate in the summer of 1971 and played regularly for the reserves during the 1971/72 season. Phil also made a single first-team appearance, playing in a Kent Floodlight Cup tie against Folkestone at Hartsdown on 1.5.72.

He stayed with the club for the 1972/73 campaign and again made played once for the first-team. Phil featured as a striker in a Kent Floodlight Cup tie at Hastings on 15.11.72 and, although Margate lost 6-0, he turned in what the Isle of Thanet Gazette described as "a sound display".

Phil left the club at the end of the 1972/73 season.

In 2006, he was running a shop in the St Lawrence area of Ramsgate.
