Player Profile:
Steve started his career at Potters Bar Town, Hoddesdon, Chesham United and Waltham Abbey before signing for Conference North Bishop's Stortford in 2012.
He joined Concord Rangers in September 2013 and went on to make more than 200 appearances for the Beachboys, averaging nearly a goal every two matches.
In 2014-15, he played alongside another future Margate striker, Jordan Chiedozie, as Concord took Mansfield Town to a replay in the FA Cup First Round before losing 1-0 at home.
In 2015-16, Steve scored the winning goal for Concord in both their National League South matches against Margate - a 2-1 home win on 31.8.15 and the only goal in a victory at Hartsdown on 28.3.16.
The following season, he scored a hat-trick at Hartsdown as Concord won 5-1 on 22.10.16.
Steve later took a break from the game before returning in the 2018-19 season at National League South side Hemel Hempstead.
While at Hemel, Steve had a loan spell at Southern League Hitchin in 2019-20 before signing permanently for the Canaries the following season.
Steve started 2021-22 at Stotfold of the Spartan South Midlands League before embarking on a third spell at Hitchin.
He signed for Margate in summer 2023. He had played alongside manager Reece Prestedge at Bishop's Stortford and assistant manager Ben Greenhalgh at Concord.
Ben told the club website: "In terms of strikers he is one of the best I have ever played with for the way me and him linked up. Steve is a very tactical player and we had a great partnership going at Concord Rangers."
Steve soon showed his consistency in front of goal and scored in three consecutive FA Cup ties for Margate - in a 3-2 win at Hendon on 2.9.23 and a 2-2 draw at home to Folkestone on 16.9.23 and in the 3-1 replay victory three days later.
He scored a double in a 2-1 home win over Potters Bar Town on 9.9.23 and Steve scored an outstanding volley in injury time to salvage a 1-1 draw at home to Hashtag United on 21.10.23.
He scored a brace in a 2-2 draw at Bognor on 28.11.23 and in a 3-2 defeat at Whitehawk on 6.1.24. By now he had taken over the role of penalty taker from Ben Greenhalgh.
Steve finished as Margate's top scorer in 2023-24 with 20 goals from 45 appearances, plus two as sub. He was named as Players' Player of the season. Steve left Margate at the end of the season and rejoined Potters Bar Town. He finished 2024-25 as the top scorer for the Scholars with 18 goals. Steve then joined Southern League side Welwyn Garden City in summer 2025.
