Player Profile:

Midfielder born in Sydney, Australia, who played for Western Sydney Wanderers before coming to the UK when he joined Southampton. He went to Gillingham initially on trial before being offered an apprenticeship in 2021.

During 2022-23, Matty had loan spells at both Margate and Sheppey United.

He joined Margate on an initial one-month work experience loan deal and his debut was on 26.12.22 in a 3-0 defeat at home to Cray Wanderers. Matty scored a sensational goal after two minutes of a 3-3 draw at home to Brightlingsea Regent on 7.1.23. He cut in from the left and his shot from just outside the box went into the far top corner of the goal.

Matty's loan deal was extended and he made 14 appearances for the club, six as a sub, before he was recalled by the Gills in March.

He signed a professional contract with Gillingham in summer 2023. In 2023-24, he made three first-team appearances, all in the EFL Trophy, and made several `B` team appearances and played against Maidstone for the Gills in the Kent Senior Cup.

In January 2024, he spent a month on loan at National League South side Dartford. In March, he started another loan spell at another National League South side, Tonbridge.

In November 2024, Matty signed for Farnborough, also of National League South.
