Player Profile:

Midfielder Ryan captained the youth team at Crawley Town before signing a one-year professional contract with the club in April 2014. He made his first-team debut on 2.9.2014 as a sub in a 2-0 home win over Cambridge United in a Football League Trophy First Round match.

Ryan joined Isthmian Premier side Leatherhead on a one-month loan in February 2015. He was released by Crawley in July 2015 and signed for Southern Combination club Loxwood. It wasn’t long before he was spotted by Isthmian League Worthing, with whom he signed a dual registration agreement. In the local press, Worthing manager Gary Elphick compared Ryan to Claude Makelele and Ramires in his style of play. In March 2016, Ryan signed for Grays Athletic.

Nikki Bull brought Ryan to Margate in November 2016, making his debut on 26.11.16 in a 1-1 FA Trophy draw with East Thurrock at Hartsdown. Ryan was sent off for handball in a 2-0 defeat at home to Poole Town on 14.1.17.

Ryan made 12 appearances for Margate without scoring, his last being a 2-0 home defeat to Whitehawk on 25.2.16.

With a change of manager at Hartsdown, Ryan joined National League South club Bishop’s Stortford and stayed there for the start of 2017-18. That season also saw a spell at Ashford United. The 2018-19 season saw Ryan in the colours of Leatherhead in the Isthmian Premier and Isthmian South Central club South Park.

He had brief stays at Hornchurch and Staines Town in 2019-20 and joined Maidstone United in October 2020. The 2021-22 campaign saw spells with Brentwood Town and Barking. FC Romania and Witham Town were Ryan’s clubs in 2022-23. He was then at Arlesey Town. Ryan played for Isthmian Division One North club Basildon United in 2024-25.

Since June 2019, Ryan has been a coach with Leyton Orient’s academy.
