Player Profile:
A former Crystal Palace youngster, he started his career at Dover Athletic. He then had spells at Havant & Waterlooville, Lewes, Hanwell Town, Carshalton Athletic and Whitehawk.
It was while he was at Whitehawk of Conference South in December 2013 that Hakeem was one of two footballers charged as part of an investigation into match fixing in the UK. He and team-mate Michael Boateng were charged following an investigation by the National Crime Agency into an alleged international betting syndicate. Both players were sacked with immediate effect by Whitehawk.
In June 2014, Boateng was found guilty while Hakeem was cleared. He told a jury at Birmingham Crown Court that he knew nothing about any plot to fix matches.
He then joined Three Bridges of the Isthmian League Division One South and Hakeem signed for Margate from them on dual registration in December 2016. His debut was in a 1-0 defeat at Hungerford Town in National League South on 17.12.16. His final match for Margate was a 0-0 draw at Concord Rangers on 4.3.17. He made a total of 12 appearances for Margate, including one as sub.
He joined Burgess Hill then Horsham on loan in October 2017.
In 2018-19, he started a long spell with Corinthian Casuals. In 2023-24, he was with Kingstonian but then returned to Corinthian Casuals.
