Midfielder Montrell came through the youth ranks at Whitstable Town, playing reserve team football before graduating to the first-team during the 2021-22 season.
He started the 2022-23 season with Margate, following his manager at Whitstable, Andy Drury.
In pre-season, he was sent off in the Thanet Cup match against Ramsgate on 30.7.22. Having come on as a sub, he clashed with the visitors' Jamie Coyle, who was also red carded.
He scored in our second league game of the season, a 2-0 win at Bowers & Pitsea on 16.8.22.
Montell was again sent off in the first half of a 1-0 FA Cup win against Aylesbury United played at Chesham on 2.9.22. Despite this, Margate still won 1-0.
He scored the winner in a 1-0 victory at Chichester City in an Isthmian League Cup tie on 8.11.22.
He had played 25 times, mostly off the bench, and scored twice before moving to Essex in January 2023 to sign for Bowers.
He started 2023-24 at Bowers before heading to Phoenix Sports briefly then heading back to Essex and joining Concord Rangers.
He returned to Bowers at the start of 2024-25 before a second spell at Concord starting in November 2024.
