Player Profile:

Born in Dulwich, David began as a trainee with Crystal Palace. He made his first-team debut as a sub for the Eagles in a 2-0 League Cup victory at home to Oldham Athletic on 3.12.2002.

He moved to Leyton Orient in 2003, playing 74 times in all competitions in two seasons. He then moved to Northampton Town, where he played in their League Two promotion season of 2005-06.

David signed for Shrewsbury Town in May 2007 on a two-year deal after rejecting a contract extension at Northampton. In January 2009, he left the Shrews to move back down south as his family had failed to settle in the area.

David joined Brentford until the end of the 2008-09 season. Having helped the Bees win the League Two title, he signed a new two-year contract in June 2009.

He signed for Conference Premier club Crawley Town in December 2010, initially on a one-month loan, with a view to a permanent move at the end of January 2011. He was part of Crawley’s Conference title-winning team in 2010–11 and played in their 1-0 Fifth Round FA Cup defeat at Manchester United on 19.2.11 in front of 74,778. David joined Crawley permanently at the end of the season on a two-year deal.

In June 2013, after leaving Crawley by mutual consent, he signed for Oxford United. In October 2014, he was loaned to Barnet until January 2015. David left Oxford United by mutual consent in February 2015.

He briefly signed for National League South side Maidenhead United before joining Margate in June 2015.

David was sent off on his league debut for Margate in a 1-1 draw at home to Truro City on the opening day of the season, 8.8.15. His foul resulted in a penalty in the 80th minute for Truro but Nikki Bull saved the kick.

David scored his first Margate goal on 23.4.16 in a 4-3 win at home to Hemel Hempstead. A direct free-kick in the first minute of the match, it was his first goal for anyone since 2011.

Near the end of the season, he told Kent Online: "It's been a rollercoaster - the most weirdest and maddest season I have ever been a part of. Unfortunately, the club has lost its way this season, and I have been at clubs before where that has happened."

After being released by Margate at the end of the season, he signed for National League South rivals Wealdstone where he became captain.
