Player Profile:

Ryan was with the academies of Millwall and Queens Park Rangers before joining Grays Athletic. He had a trial with Exeter City early in 2010.

In October 2010, he signed for Eastbourne Town. As well as playing, he worked for the Nike Academy that helped young players join professional clubs.

Ryan got his own chance of a pro deal at the end of the 2010-11 season when he was signed by League Two Oxford United, going on a tour of the States with the U's in July 2011. After Ryan scored in a 2-0 friendly win over Birmingham City on 26.7.11, Oxford manager Chris Wilder told the BBC: "We think he's got something about him. He's desperate to get on the pitch and everyone was made up that he scored. He's had a few knocks in his career but I've got no problems in giving lads a second opportunity."

His time at Oxford was marred by an ankle injury, however, and Ryan was released after six months. He joined Met Police in January 2012.

He'd also had a spell at Dulwich Hamlet before joining Margate from Met Police in February 2015. His Margate debut came in a 3-3 draw at Kingstonian on 28.2.15.

Ryan was the only player from either side to miss in a penalty shoot-out in a Kent Senior Cup semi-final against Gillingham at Priestfield on 9.3.15. Margate lost 6-5 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Ryan scored twice for Margate – both goals coming in a dramatic 4-4 draw at home to Hendon on 14.4.15.

At the end of the season, Ryan returned to Met Police and later had a stint with Tooting & Mitcham United.
