Player Profile:

Scottish midfielder who started his career with Glasgow United before moving into league football with Clydebank. Jimmy was on the club's books during 1979/90 but never made a first team appearance. He later had a spell with Welsh club Merthyr before moving to England.

Jimmy played for Kent League outfit Tunbridge Wells before signing for Tonbridge.

In December 1988 Jimmy left the Angels to join Thanet United and made his debut on 17.12.88, ironically against Tonbridge. United won 2-0 at Hartsdown Park and the Adscene said that Jimmy had an "effective first match". The Isle of Thanet Gazette agreed, saying that he "often took the eye" but Jimmy then missed United's next five games due to a pre-arranged holiday in Scotland. He returned for a 4-0 home defeat at the hands of Andover on 21.1.89 and the Adscene felt he was "Thanet's most effective player". A week later United were thrashed 6-2 at Witney but the Thanet Times said that Jimmy was "outstanding" in midfield. He played once more, in a 2-0 defeat at home to Bury on 4.2.89, but Jimmy then left the club, telling player-manager Garry Aldous that he wasn't enjoying his football. He'd made four appearances before his departure.

After leaving Thanet Jimmy rejoined Tonbridge but after making eight appearances at the start of the 1989/90 season he moved on.

During the 1990/91 campaign he played for Cray.
