Player Profile:

Local player who was a regular in the reserves throughout the 1980/81 season and also made three first team appearances (two of them as a substitute) at the end of the campaign during a drastic player shortage at the club. This followed the departure of most of the club's contracted players due to a financial crisis.

Dave made his debut when he came on as a substitute during a 1-0 defeat against Canterbury at Hartsdown on 20.4.81. He made one further sub appearance and then made his full debut on 4.5.81 when he played in a home game against Poole, Margate lost 5-2 in the club's last game before the name change to Thanet United.

During the 1981/82 season Dave played regularly for Thanet United's reserves but he only made one further first team appearance. He played in a 5-0 defeat at Dunstable on 24.3.82.

He then played exclusively for the reserves during the 1982/83 campaign.

Dave was still at Hartsdown during the 1983/84 season and came close to making another first team appearance when he was an unused substitute for Thanet's home game with Road-Sea Southampton on 24.9.83.

He later dropped back into local amateur football and was playing for Margate Athletic during the 1985/86 season.

By 2013 Dave was working as a landscape gardener in the Maghull area near Liverpool.
