Ashford-born forward who played for Kent at schoolboy level and was playing local football in the Ashford area when Margate signed him in the summer of 1979.

Darren made his debut in a 3-2 defeat at home to Crawley on 18.8.79, the opening day of the 1979/80 season. He scored one of Margate's goals but only played twice more before departing.

Darren later became a financial consultant in the Ashford area.
