Player Profile:

Defender born in Earlsfield, London who attended Elliott School in Putney and played for the London schools side as a youth. Peter also had a trial for the England schoolboys team.

He joined Chelsea straight after leaving school and made his South Eastern Counties League debut during the 1956/57 campaign. Peter went on to spend several seasons at Stamford Bridge as a youth and reserve player.

Peter then signed for Watford and joined Margate during the 1960/61 season, making his debut in a friendly against the Hornets immediately after leaving Vicarage Road. He then made his first competitive appearance in a 4-1 defeat at Poole on 26.11.60. Peter went on to become Margate\'s first-choice centre-back during the remainder of the 1960/61 season, making 28 appearances and impressing with his steadiness. He also scored once during the season, the goal coming when he played as a striker in a 1-1 draw at Rugby on 11.3.61.

In June 1961 Peter left the club and took up a job with the Metropolitan Police, announcing that he was giving up football altogether.

However he soon relented and joined Crawley where he unfortunately broke his leg during the 1961/62 season.

Peter was a good cricketer and also boxed as an amateur.

He died in the 1990\'s.
