Player Profile:

6' 0" tall centre-forward who started his career with Brentford before moving on to Snowdown Colliery Welfare in October 1951. Joe hadn't played for the Bees' first team.

In September 1952 Joe signed for Margate and made his debut in a Kent League game against Bexleyheath & Welling at Hartsdown Park on 6.9.52. He scored in an 8-0 win but didn't feature in Margate's senior side again. Joe scored twice for the reserves before leaving the club to rejoin Snowdown where he spent the remainder of 1952/53.

In the summer of 1953 Joe signed for Whitstable and scored four goals in 14 first team appearances during the 1953/54 season. He also scored seven times for the Oystermen's reserves. Joe was released by the club at the end of the campaign.
