Player Profile:

Creative forward born in Tottenham who played for Spurs' junior sides before moving on to Corinthian League club Edgware Town.

During the Second World War, Don was prominent in army football and in December 1947 he joined West Ham from Edgware.

Don made his first team debut for the Hammers in a 3-0 home win over Fulham on 13.12.47 and went on to score seven goals in 40 sporadic senior appearances spanning the 1947/48 to 1949/50 seasons. He was released by West Ham at the end of the 1951/52 campaign having not featured in the first team for over two years.

Don joined Bedford in the summer of 1952 and spent two seasons there without ever becoming a first team regular. He made a total of 35 appearances and scored 12 goals before being released at the end of the 1953/54 campaign.

He joined Gravesend & Northfleet in the summer of 1954 before moving on to Margate In January 1955.

Don made his debut on the left wing in a 2-1 defeat at home to Snowdown on 8.1.55. It turned out to be his only first team appearance and Don spent the rest of the 1954/55 season in the reserves. He left the club to join Ashford in May 1955.
