Player Profile:
James spent time with Tottenham Hotspur and QPR as a youngster before briefly linking up with Eastleigh in 2009/10. He then moved to Spain to be part of the Glenn Hoddle Academy.
James was one of the players quoted in a 2009 BBC article about the academy. He said: "I was very pleased to get this opportunity here. I'm just so glad the coaches here have given me an opportunity to work on my technique, my strength and all aspects of my game. My dream is just to get back into a professional club and just be playing in front of fans and just living the dream of a footballer really."
James returned to English football, playing for Hayes & Yeading United prior to arriving at Ebbsfleet in July 2012.
Sutton United was his next stop and he made 37 appearances for them in the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons.
James played two games for Margate on loan in 2013/14 - a 2-3 defeat at home to Hendon on 11.1.14 (he was substituted on 58 minutes) and a 2-4 defeat at home to Dulwich on 21.1.14. James also had loan spells at Hemel Hempstead and Hornchurch that season.
He left Sutton and spent the next three seasons at Tonbridge Angels in the Isthmian Premier. He signed for Grays Athletic in 2017/18 (in an interview in a Tonbridge programme in October 2019, James said personal issues were behind the move) but returned to Tonbridge in 2018/19 when they won promotion. He then had two unfinished campaigns with them in National League South. He made more than 200 appearances for the Longmead club.
James signed for Barking in 21/22 and spent 2022/23 and 2023/24 with Harlow Town.
