Player Profile:

Woolwich-born winger who started his senior career with Charlton in 1940 and made eight first team appearances, scoring once, during the Second World War. Eric also played for Erith & Belvedere during the conflict.

After the war Eric had spells with Bexleyheath and Dartford before joining Gravesend & Northfleet for the 1948/49 season.

At the start of the 1949/50 campaign he had a trial with Hastings but Eric soon returned to Gravesend and stayed there until the summer of 1951.

His next move took him to Chatham and in April 1952 he signed for Margate.

Eric made two appearances before the end of the 1951/52 season, making his debut in a 1-0 win over Snowdown in a Kent League match at Hartsdown Park on 5.4.52. They proved to be his only games for Margate as he suffered a knee injury prior to the start of the 1952/53 season and was eventually released by the club in November 1952.

Eric then rejoined Bexleyheath & Welling and played for them during the 1953/54 season.

He died in Greenwich, London during the summer of 1976 aged only 55.
