Nigel joined Canterbury during the early part of the 1981/82 campaign and made seven Southern League appearances for City without scoring before joining Thanet United in March 1982.
Nigel made a one-off appearance for United in a 2-0 defeat against Hounslow at Hartsdown on 3.4.82 and left the club soon afterwards.

He began his third spell with Darenth during the 1991/92 season and combined that with turning out for Hollisters. One of Nigel's team-mates for the Sunday club was former Margate player Bob Walter.
During the 2011/12 campaign Nigel was assistant manager of Gravesend-based Kent County League club Guru Nanak.
