Mike spent just under a year with the Trotters and didn't appear for their first-team.

In December 1952, he signed for West Bromwich Albion and made a single First Division appearance for them during the 1952/53 season before dropping into non-league football.

Mike initially joined Tonbridge and then linked up with Margate in February 1955.

He made his debut in a 5-1 win at Faversham on 5.3.55 but only played twice more before suffering a cartilage injury. At the end of the 1954/55 season he was released and returned home to Scotland.

In August 1955, Mike signed for Scottish League club Third Lanark and he made three appearances there, all in the Scottish League Cup, before being released.

He later played for Scottish non-league outfit Selkirk.

Mike died in 1975.
