Player Profile:

England Schoolboy and Youth international born in Bradford who started his career with Derby before moving to Mansfield for the 1952/53 season.

He then dropped into non-league football and joined Tonbridge.

Vince left the Angels in December 1954 and signed for Margate as a replacement for the tragically deceased Len Dolding. He made his debut in a 4-0 win at Folkestone on 4.12.54 and made an instant impression on Margate's left wing. The local press reported that one spectator claimed Vince had "all the makings of a second Stanley Matthews" and by the end of the 1954/55 season he'd made 26 appearances, scoring five times.

However, he was transfer-listed by the club in May 1955 and soon signed for Tunbridge Wells. When they played at Margate during 1955/56, the programme for the game noted that Vince "always enlivens a game" with his "circus-like antics".

In December 1956, he moved onto Canterbury City.

Vince died in Canterbury during June 2004 aged 73.
