Player Profile:

Battling Ramsgate-born player who had spells with Ramsgate and Dover (during 1977/78) before joining Canterbury in the summer of 1978.

During the next three seasons Glenn made 107 Southern League appearances (three as sub) for City and scored seven goals before signing for Thanet United in the summer of 1981.

He made his debut in United's first ever game, a 1-1 draw with Dunstable at Hartsdown Park on 15.8.81, and impressed with his hard work in midfield. However, as the season wore on, Glenn usually played in his favoured right-back role. He'd made 31 appearances up to February 1982 but then left the club.

The local press reported that Glenn's departure was due to a dispute over wages, saying that the whole United squad had been asked to take a pay cut but he and Alan Draper had refused. However, in 2008 Glenn himself explained: "I did not leave purely for financial reasons as inferred...I had unfortunately become disillusioned with football in general and in fact retired. I have not played since."

In later years Glenn was in the police force.
