Player Profile:
Thanet-born midfielder who progressed through Thanet United's youth teams. Peter played for the club's Under-14's during the 1984/85 season and by 1986/87 he was a regular in United's reserves. During the 1987/88 campaign he scored four goals in 23 reserve team games and Peter then joined Ramsgate in the summer of 1988.
After a season with the Rams, Peter linked up with Herne Bay for 1989/90 and made over 40 appearances there before going back to Southwood for 1990/91.
On 6.5.91 he scored the only goal of the game as Ramsgate beat Margate 1-0 at home to win the Isle of Thanet Gazette Cup and Peter stayed with the Rams for the start of the 1991/92 campaign too.
In January 1992, he joined Margate on trial but he left the club and returned to Ramsgate after only a week without playing a game at any level.
At the end of March 1992, Peter left the Rams and joined Canterbury but by May 1992 he was back at Southwood, scoring a 25-yarder for Ramsgate as they retained the Isle of Thanet Gazette Cup with a 3-1 win at Margate 5.5.92.
In the summer of 1992, Peter signed for Margate and made his debut as a substitute in a 1-1 draw at Corinthian in the FA Cup on 15.9.92. He made his first start in midfield on 18.9.92 as Margate drew 2-2 in an FA Trophy at Fareham. Peter then featured in the club's next 13 matches, mostly as a substitute. From 21.9.92 to 17.10.92, he came on as a sub in seven consecutive games. Peter enjoyed a run in the side at the end of October 1992 and started four matches in a row before losing his place once more. After coming on as a sub in a 2-1 home defeat against Wealdstone on 7.11.92, he didn't feature again and returned to Ramsgate. He'd made 15 appearances without scoring, ten of them as a substitute.
Peter went on to spend over seven years with Ramsgate and scored over 15 goals from midfield during the 1996/97 season. He stayed with the Rams until the end of the 2001/02 campaign before retiring.
During his 1989/90 spell at Herne Bay, Peter was working as a machine mechanic.
