Player Profile:

Bustling centre-forward born in Southend who began his career with Ipswich. Keith played for the Suffolk club's youth team during the 1967/68 campaign and scored 14 goals from 24 appearances (one as sub) for them. He also scored twice from four outings for Ipswich's reserves before being released at the end of the season.

Keith signed for Hastings ahead of the 1968/69 campaign and during that season they loaned him to Romford. He stayed with Hastings for 1969/70 and the start of 1970/71 too and on 21.12.70 Keith scored the goal that gave them a 1-0 win in a Kent Floodlight Cup tie against Margate at Hartsdown Park.

In March 1971 Keith joined Margate and scored with a cheeky back-heel on his debut in a 2-1 home win over Telford on 24.3.71. He went on to make a total of 13 appearances before the end of the 1970/71 season and scored seven goals, including two in a 4-2 win over Hereford on 30.4.71.

Keith was in and out of the Margate side during the early part of the 1971/72 campaign, partly due to injury, but scored twice, including an excellent goal from the edge of the penalty area, in a 4-2 win at Ashford on 24.11.71. Keith won praise for his tireless displays but after finding the net three times in 11 appearances (one as sub) his contract was cancelled by mutual consent in December 1971. Keith was considering emigrating to Australia at that time.
