Player Profile:

6' 0" midfielder born in Ashford who was part of Queens Park Rangers' youth set-up from the age of ten and played for Kent during his schooldays. In July 2003, QPR gave Ryan a scholar's contract when he was 16 and he played for the R's Under-17's side during the 2003-04 season. On 4.12.04, he was an unused substitute as the first-team lost 2-1 at Nottingham Forest in the Championship. Ryan then featured in QPR's Under-18's during the 2004-05 campaign.

He was given a professional contract in the summer of 2005 and Ryan started 2005-06 in the R's reserves.

In September 2005, he was loaned to Conference South club Maidenhead and, after a spell back at Loftus Road, Ryan was farmed out to Conference outfit Dagenham & Redbridge in January 2006. He stayed with the Daggers until March 2006.

At the start of May 2006, Ryan had a trial with AFC Bournemouth and played for their reserves.

He was released by QPR at the end of the 2005-06 season and by then Ryan had made 31 reserve team appearances (two as sub) and scored once during his time with the club.

In the summer of 2006, Ryan joined Maidenhead on a permanent basis and he spent over a year there before moving to Kent League outfit Slade Green in October 2007.

In March 2008, Ryan linked up with Sittingbourne and he scored once from three Isthmian League Division 1 South outings before the end of the 2007-08 campaign.

In the summer of 2008, he was signed by Welling but the Wings also set up a dual registration arrangement with Sittingbourne so that Ryan could play for either club. In the event, he only made one appearance for the Brickies early in the 2008-09 season and Ryan featured regularly in Welling's Conference South side. In December 2008, he had a fit before a match and had to be taken to hospital.

After making over 50 appearances for Welling, Ryan joined Dartford in December 2009 and he scored once from 17 outings before the end of 2009-10 as they won the Isthmian League Premier Division title.

After being released by the Darts in May 2010, Ryan rejoined Sittingbourne for the start of the 2010/11 campaign but he only made two Division 1 South appearances, scoring in one of them, before leaving the club.

After a few months out of football, Ryan joined Kent League outfit Corinthian early in 2011 and he stayed with the club for the start of the 2011-12 season, scoring three times during the opening months of the campaign.

In October 2011, Ryan signed for Margate and he made his debut as a substitute in a 1-0 home defeat against Carshalton in the Isthmian League Premier Division on 8.10.11. He then missed two games before starting in midfield for the first time in a 3-1 win over Kingstonian in an Isthmian League Cup tie at Hartsdown Park on 18.10.11. After that, match manager Chris Kinnear told the Isle of Thanet Gazette: "He was with QPR as a kid. He runs his own business, so he's not been able to do much football-wise, but he's good enough for our level. I've signed him as a first-team player, so it's a matter of getting him some games. He played with my son at Corinthian and I've seen him a number of times."

Ryan's next outing was as a substitute in a 3-1 win at Chipstead in the FA Trophy on 22.10.11 and the Thanet Times said he "added guile to the Blues midfield" after his introduction. He then started three of the next four matches and Ryan's last appearance came in a 2-1 defeat at Wealdstone in the FA Trophy on 8.11.11. He left Margate later in November having played six times in all, twice as a substitute, and his departure was linked to work commitments.

Ryan soon rejoined Corinthian and on 17.12.11 he scored twice in a remarkable 10-0 win over Deal where all the goals came in the second half. He was sent off in a 4-0 win at Woodstock Sports on 14.3.12 and Ryan stayed with Corinthian for the 2013-14 season.

In the summer of 2014, he moved on to Erith & Belvedere of the SCEFL and helped the Deres reach the last eight of the FA Vase in 2014-15. This was followed by a transfer to Hythe Town but Ryan left them in January 2016 to play for Greenwich Borough, who went on to win the SCEFL in 2015-16.

He returned to Hythe in the summer of 2016 and Ryan won their Supporters' and Players' Player of the Year awards in 2017-18. In total, he played 112 games in his spells with Hythe and scored five goals.

Ryan spent 2018-19 at East Grinstead Town of the Isthmian League South East Division. In the summer of 2019, he made the surprise move to National League South side Maidstone United and made 28 appearances in 2019-20.

From there, he joined Ramsgate, of the Isthmian League South East Division, for the abandoned 2020-21 season. He captained the Rams in the Thanet Cup game at Hartsdown on 22.8.20 that Margate won 3-2.

He spent the 2021-22 season at Isthmian Premier Folkestone Invicta, making 52 appearances, before returning to SCEFL side Erith & Belvedere in June 2022.
