Player Profile:

Locally-born player who started his senior career with Ramsgate as a 17 year-old during the 1981/82 season before leaving the club early in 1982.

Kevin turned out for Deal's reserves for a while and then after a spell back in local amateur football he returned to Southwood and played for the Rams during the 1985/86 campaign. He then joined Thanet United during the 1987/88 season.

Kevin became a regular in United's reserves during 1987/88, playing ten games for them without scoring. He also made a handful of first-team appearances. Kevin made his debut when he wore the number seven shirt in a 3-2 defeat at Poole on 12.3.88 and he also came on as a substitute in a 0-0 draw with Canterbury on 26.3.88 and a 1-0 defeat at Erith & Belvedere on 29.3.88. At the end of the season he rejoined Ramsgate.

Kevin returned to Hartsdown in October 1988 and broke into the first-team almost immediately. He came on as a substitute in a 2-1 defeat at home to Trowbridge on 5.11.88 and won a penalty for Thanet when he was fouled, the spot kick was converted by Clive Barham for United's goal. On 8.11.88, Karl started in midfield as United lost 5-0 to Dover in a Southern League Cup tie at Hartsdown and he also played in a 6-2 defeat at Tonbridge on 12.11.88. The Thanet Times said that Kevin was "one of the few Thanet players to have a successful game" and he kept his place in midfield for United's next three games, the last of them a 6-1 home defeat at the hands of Poole on 19.11.88. Kevin then dropped into the reserves for the remainder of the 1988/89 season and he scored twice in 11 games for them having made five first-team appearances, one of them as a substitute.

In the summer of 1989, Kevin went back to Ramsgate again but in October 1989 he returned to Hartsdown and joined Margate.

He played exclusively for the reserves during the remainder of the 1989/90 campaign, making 25 appearances (one as sub) and scoring five goals as Margate Reserves won the Kent League Division Two title. Kevin then dropped back into local football at the end of the season.

He played for Kent County League side Phoenix Rovers during the 1991/92 campaign.

Kevin worked as a civil engineer during the early 1990s and still lived in Margate in 2005. His brother Karl also played for Thanet United.
