Player Profile:
Bromley-born midfielder/defender who started his career with Faversham Town in the Kent League in 1998/99. He soon came to the attention of Conference outfit Welling United and joined them the following season, staying with the Wings until 2004/05 when Anthony signed for Fisher of the Southern League Eastern Division, helping them win the title that season. He enjoyed another promotion with Fisher from the Isthmian Premier in 2005/06.
Anthony stayed with the Fish until 2007/08 when he joined fellow Conference South side Eastleigh. After four seasons with the Hampshire club, he signed for another Conference South team, Sutton United. Anthony was named Player of the Season in his first year at Sutton and made 131 appearances and scored seven goals before moving on to Margate in January 2014.
His Margate debut was in a 3-2 home defeat against Hendon on 11.1.14. By the end of that season, Anthony had made 17 appearances (plus three as sub) and scored twice – in a 2-4 home loss to Dulwich on 21.1.14 and a 4-1 win at East Thurrock on 8.4.14.
He featured frequently in the side during 2014/15, either playing at the back or in midfield.
His last appearance for Margate was as a 90th minute substitute for Kane Wills in the 2-1 play-off semi-final victory over Dulwich Hamlet at Hartsdown on 14.5.15. He had made 33 appearances (plus seven as sub) and scored once - in a 2-0 League Cup win at home to Burgess Hill on 20.1.15.
After Margate’s promotion, Anthony was released and joined Tonbridge Angels where he made 34 appearances and scored two goals in 2015/16. Aged 38, he left the club at the end of the season due to work commitments.
