Player Profile:

Much-travelled pacy striker from the Lincolnshire area who had spells with Holbeach, Stamford and Spalding before linking up with Eynesbury.

Steve joined Boston from Eynesbury during the 1993/94 campaign but only made three substitute appearances for the first-team there.

He then moved south and joined Kent League club Sheppey in the summer of 1994. Steve went on to spend three years there and was the Kent League's leading goalscorer for each of the 1994/95, 1995/96 and 1996/97 seasons before signing for Cray in the summer of 1997. He'd scored 31 goals during 1996/97.

By October 1997, Steve was back at Sheppey and he ended up winning the Kent League's Golden Boot award for 1997/98 - the fourth consecutive year that he'd claimed the honour.

Steve's scoring exploits prompted Purfleet to make a move for him and he made nine Isthmian League appearances (five as sub) for them at the start of the 1998/99 campaign but only scored once before being released.

His next stop was Deal and, after joining the club in January 1999, Steve scored 18 goals in 24 appearances before the end of the season. He stayed with Deal for 1999/00 and enjoyed another prolific campaign. Steve scored over 30 goals and his tally included eight in Deal's run to the FA Vase Final which ended in triumph as they beat Chippenham 1-0 at the old Wembley on 6.5.00.

He linked up with Ashford for the start of the 2000/01 season but, in March 2001, Steve was part of a mass player exodus from the Nuts & Bolts following the departure of manager Steve Lovell and he signed for Margate on a non-contract basis.

Steve made his debut as a substitute in a 4-0 win at Moor Green on 20.3.01 and also came off the bench as Margate beat Bath 2-0 at Hartsdown Park on 24.3.01. As Margate closed in on the Southern League Premier Division title, Steve made three more sporadic substitute appearances, the last of them in a 2-0 defeat at Burton on 5.5.01 - the final day of the 2000/01 campaign. He was released at the end of the season.

Steve signed for Sittingbourne in the summer of 2001 before rejoining Purfleet a few weeks into the 2001/02 campaign. He scored five goals in 18 Isthmian League appearances there, often playing alongside Martin Buglione, and then moved on to Maidstone early in 2002.

Steve stayed with the Stones for the 2002/03 season but suffered a serious injury early on that put him out of football for a year. He resumed his Maidstone career in September 2003 but left the club in December and joined Whitstable.

He scored on his debut for the Oystermen as they beat Sevenoaks 4-2 in the Kent League on 13.12.03 and Steve went on to spend over four years with the club. He made in excess of 100 appearances, scoring more than 50 goals, and helped Whitstable gain promotion to the Isthmian League before leaving the club in February 2008 due to work and family commitments.

Steve spent the 2008/09 campaign with Kent County League outfit Bly Spartans before retiring at the end of that season.

He worked as a HVAC Commissioning Engineer.
