Player Profile:

Defender born in Seven Sisters, Glamorgan who started his career with Britton Ferry before joining Cardiff prior to World War II.

In October 1946 Dennis signed for Norwich and went on to make exactly 250 first team appearances for them.

Dennis left Carrow Road after nine years and joined Merthyr before coming to Hartsdown early in 1958 after weeks of protracted negotiations. He played mainly for the reserves during the remainder of the 1957/58 season but also made five first team appearances. Colin made his debut on 8.3.58 as Margate went down 3-1 to Ramsgate in a Kent Senior Cup tie at Hartsdown. He was unable to break into the side on a regular basis due to the form of the established Terry Joyce.

Dennis was made captain of the reserves for the 1958/59 season and only made one first team appearance during the campaign. That was in a 3-3 Kent League draw at Tunbridge Wells on 22.4.59 and it proved to be his last first team game for the club as Dennis was released in the summer of 1959.

He died in 1980.
