A bleak season groundsharing at Ashford Town's Homelands as the stadium saga with Thanet Council dragged on. Crowds fell, wages went unpaid and there was a transfer embargo placed on the club. However, funds were secured for the construction of a temporary stadium at Hartsdown in time for 2005-06. We finished the season in the relegation zone and then had ten points deducted for going into administration. Tragically, former Margate legend Paul Sykes died after playing against us for Folkestone Invicta in a Kent Senior Cup semi-final. The final we played against Dover was in effect a memorial match for him and we won 2-1.
