6' 5" tall defender born in Croydon who moved to the Thanet area as a youth and played for Thanet Colts' Under-13 side during the 1992/93 season.

Alan later played for various youth teams at Margate and during the 2005/06 campaign he progressed into the reserves. He also played for local amateur club Birchington USC at that time.

After featuring in one of Margate's pre-season friendlies in the summer of 2006 Alan made his first team debut at centre-back in a 1-0 defeat at VCD in the Kent Senior Cup on 8.11.06. He then returned to the reserves and didn't feature in the senior side again.

Alan continued to play in the reserves throughout the 2007/08 campaign and in the summer of 2008 he featured in two first team friendlies but a few weeks into the 2008/09 season Alan left Margate and dropped back into local football.

During the 2011/12 campaign he was turning out for Bradstow Albion in the Thanet Sunday Football League and Alan was still playing locally during 2013/14.

He worked as a painter and decorator during his time with Margate.
