Player Profile:
Midfielder Alex came through the ranks at Gillingham, signing his first professional contract in summer 2011. In September 2011, he went on loan to Isthmian South outfit Whitstable Town.
On the last day of 2011-12, he made his first-team debut for Gillingham as a sub in a 2-0 League Two home win against Morecambe on 5.5.12.
In October 2012, he went on loan to Corby Town of Conference North with fellow Gills and future Margate player Jack Evans. In December 2012, Alex was sent on another loan, this time to Maidstone United.
Alex was made available for a free transfer in January 2013 by Gillingham and subsequently signed permanently for the Stones. He won two promotions with Maidstone and scored a stunning 20-yard goal in a 2-1 home win over Margate on 28.3.15.
He went on loan to Leatherhead in December 2015 and made the move permanent in January 2016 but at the end of the 2015-16 season left the Tanners.
In summer 2016, Alex joined National League South side Dartford. He stayed with the Darts until the end of the 2017–18 campaign.
Alex signed for Margate in summer 2018 and scored twice on his league debut in a 5-2 home win over Corinthian Casuals on 11.8.18.
Alex’s last match for the club was an FA Cup tie at home to Horndean on 8.9.18, a match Margate won 3-2. In the first half he had to go off with a serious knee injury that kept him out of action for the rest of the season.
Alex was released by Margate and made a comeback from injury with Hythe Town during 2019-20. He stayed at Reachfields until the end of the 2021-22 campaign, when he moved to Ashford United.
