Striker Ashley began his career with spells at Burgess Hill Town, Southall, Hayes & Yeading United, Cheshunt and Hanwell Town.

After a spell at Great Wakering Rovers, he helped Brentwood Town reach the Isthmian North Division play-off final in 2021-22, which they lost to Canvey Island.

Ashley started 2022-23 at Welling United but soon moved on to Dulwich Hamlet of National League South. He joined Margate on dual registration from Dulwich in November 2022. Ashley scored on his debut in a 2-0 home win against Bognor Regis on 5.11.22.

Ashley made one more appearance (a 3-0 win at home to Sheppey in the Kent Senior Cup on 15.11.22) then returned to Dulwich and in December 2022 began a loan spell at Canvey Island.

Ashley signed for Chatham Town in the Isthmian South East Division in March 2023. He stayed at Chatham for 2023-24 and scored 14 times as the Chats reached the Isthmian Premier play-offs.

He joined Billericay Town at the start of the 2024-25 campaign. Ashley moved to Cray Wanderers for the start of 2025-26.
