Player Profile:

Centre-forward who had two spells with Margate. Bill initially joined the club from local amateur football in the summer of 1958 and played exclusively for the reserves during the 1958/59 season, scoring regularly for them. He then left Hartsdown Park and dropped back into local football, playing for Minnis Bay and Birchington amongst others.

Bill returned to senior football during the 1960/61 season and played for Herne Bay before returning to Margate in the summer of 1962.

During the 1962/63 campaign he was the reserves' top scorer with 17 goals in 29 appearances but despite this Bill only made a single first team appearance. The match concerned was a Kent Floodlight Cup tie at home to Ramsgate on 23.4.63. Bill scored twice in a 3-3 draw but they were to be his only goals for the club. He was released at the end of the season and joined Snowdown for the 1963/64 campaign.

During the 1966/67 season Bill was back playing for Minnis Bay in the Thanet Premier Sunday League.

He then joined Deal for the 1967/68 season and later returned to local football.

He was with Minnis Bay once more during the 1969/70 season.

Bill died in Sidcup, Kent, on 20.3.04 aged 68.
