Player Profile:
Gravesend-born midfielder - son of legendary Margate manager Chris Kinnear - who captained Gravesend & Northfleet's Under-16's during the 2005-06 campaign. Chris also had a short spell on Margate's books during the season.
He was named as a sub for a 1-0 home defeat against Chelmsford in the Isthmian Premier Division on 5.11.05 and a 1-0 defeat against visitors Dartford in the FA Trophy on 12.11.05 but his father elected not to use Chris in either game.
After his spell at Hartsdown Park, Chris continued playing for Gravesend & Northfleet's Under-16's for the remainder of the campaign and during the 2006-07 season he was selected for Kent while still a Fleet player. Chris also represented his county in a tournament in July 2007.
Gravesend & Northfleet became Ebbsfleet United for 2007-08 and Chris was part of their full-time PASE development scheme that season. In May 2008, he travelled with the Fleet squad for the FA Trophy Final at Wembley which they won by beating Torquay 1-0. Chris was still with the club during 2008-09.
He had a spell with Tonbridge during 2009-10 and, on 26.1.10, Chris played as they beat visitors Ramsgate 2-1 in a Kent Senior Cup tie.
In the summer of 2010, he signed for Erith & Belvedere and Chris played regularly in the Kent League for them during 2010-11.
He moved on to Corinthian, also of the Kent League, for the 2011-12 campaign and Chris also started 2012-13 there. By then he was studying at the University of Kent at Canterbury.
On 16.10.12, Chris made a one-off appearance for Margate when he came on as a substitute early in the second half of a 4-0 home defeat against Metropolitan Police in the Isthmian League Cup and his father was in charge of Margate at the time.
Chris then returned to Corinthian and, later in the 2012-13 season, he captained the England Universities team in internationals against Wales and Scotland. Chris was the first University of Kent student ever to play for the side.
In July 2013, he played for his father's Dover side in several friendlies and Corinthian manager Matt Longhurst told the Kentish Football website: "Chris Kinnear has gone training with Dover at the moment. I don't know whether he'll end up at Dover. Obviously his dad's the manager there, which is fair enough. He just felt he wanted to make at least one step up. I'm a little bit disappointed (that he's left us) but, having said that, it gives some of the younger ones the chance to come through and play games."
In August 2013, Dover confirmed that Chris had been registered to play in Conference South matches during 2013-14. At the end of that season, on 10.5.2014, Chris played in the Conference South play-off final against Ebbsfleet at Stonebridge Road that Dover won 1-0 to gain promotion to the Conference Premier.
Chris stayed at Crabble until summer 2017 when he moved to Isthmian Premier side Tonbridge Angels. He left Longmead in January 2018 due to "internal issues" and dropped a division to play for Hythe Town in the Isthmian South Division. He became Hythe captain in 2018-19.
In 2021, Chris became Director of Football at Thai club Nakhon Ratchasima Mazda.
